Stolen S2000

Hey guys, I've been around here a long long time here and have never had a reason to post. Unfortunately today is the day.

A few months back I bought my dream car and it got stolen last night. It was a Honda S2000. I'm a former engineer for Honda who recently moved across the country to Houston because I was getting engaged. Unfortunately things got busy for the girl at work and we broke up. I used the money I had saved up for the ring to buy my car, a beautiful 15,000 mile 2004 Silverstone S2000 with a hartop. I proceeded to drown the lonely feeling of being newly single in a new place by attending shows, autocrosses, working on the car and getting it ready for the early Houston summer. I've always wanted this car and to have it ripped away after only a few months is incredibly painful.

The info about the theft:
I-10 and Silber Road in Houston, Texas
3:10AM-3:40AM
Two Men
Seems to be:
Recent model White Nissan Frontier
Extended Cab
Kind of dirty, with dark grey or black mud on it
Something yellow (possibly a toolbox or spool of wire/tubing) in the bed

I hate coming to ask you guys for something without ever first contributing a little, but I don't have a lot left right now besides these pics. I left my family and home and friends for a girl. When she left I filled that emptiness with my dream car. It's gone now and I'm feeling pretty empty and alone. Things are bad sometimes but I honestly wasn't prepared for this. These were just from my first couple months with the car, I was going to keep it forever. Truly my dream car.

I've always felt a part of something reading the stories here. I bought the car because I'm one of you all. I'm an FSAE alum. I've done actual test driving for an OEM, a dream I had since I can remember (like most boys from SE Michigan). I build things. I fix things. I'm an engineer. But this I can't do this alone. So if there's anyone who can help I'd appreciate it.

This is easily the most beautiful S2000 I've ever seen. There is no God if you don't get it back. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm feeling lucky that I have a great job which gave me the day off to deal with this and that my apartment complex let me dig through and copy all the security footage I could find.

Unfortunately their license plate camera was conveniently misalgined and didn't get the thief's plates. The Houston PD has been next to useless. They took a phone report just hours after the theft happened but only sent someone out to pick up the security video I found, extracted, and edited down by myself. They have done no other investigation of any kind.

Also luckily, the car is insured through Progressive. I am a ten year customer with no claims and full coverage so hopefully they won't battle me too hard on the money if we don't find my baby. They've been helpful so far and are going to send their own investigator.

No problem. Cyberiumc0re, aka Jeff, informed me of your loss. Couldn't believe my eyes, saw your post on S2Ki when I heard. I am going to share this on my car blog on tumblr, I'm hoping some of the 16,000+ followers there are from Houston and can keep an eye out.

There is nothing more painful than seeing your pride-and-joy ride being jacked. If it does make it up here to the PNW (kind of unrealistic but hey - who knows WHAT could happen), I'll let you know.

Hey all, thought I'd give an update just to bring things full circle. No news ever came of the car from the Houston Police or otherwise. My insurance company wrote me a check that covered my losses fairly completely and I deposited it today. I'm moving to an apartment with a more secure lot and single car alarmed garages, and I'm in the hunt for another fun car. Thanks for the comments and recommends here guys, and be careful out there.
